What TradiePricer does

Describe your job in plain English. Select your trade. Enter your suburb. In seconds, you get an itemised price range based on real Australian pricing data — covering labour, materials and the factors that affect final cost in your area.

Our approach

TradiePricer is a tool to help you understand what to expect — not a weapon to negotiate tradies down. Good tradies charge fair prices. Our goal is to help you recognise a fair price when you see one.

How we connect tradies and homeowners

TradiePricer is a connection platform. We list local tradies so homeowners can find and contact them directly. We do not employ, endorse, or take responsibility for any tradie listed on the platform. TradiePricer is not a party to any agreement made between a homeowner and a tradie.

Homeowners are responsible for independently verifying a tradie's licence, insurance and qualifications before engaging them for any work. Licence checks can be done through your state's licensing authority.

Free for homeowners. Always.

TradiePricer is completely free for homeowners and always will be. We earn a small fee from tradies for connecting them with local homeowners — homeowners never pay anything.

TradiePricer is operated by Declan Alexander McLeod (ABN 13 668 388 264), a sole trader based in Newcastle, NSW, Australia. We are committed to handling your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

What personal information we collect

We collect the following information when you use TradiePricer:

• Job descriptions — the text you enter to generate an estimate
• Trade type and suburb or postcode — used for location-aware pricing
• Email address — only if you voluntarily submit it via our notification form
• IP address — collected temporarily for rate limiting (max 15 estimates per hour) and is not stored permanently
• Usage data — anonymised site usage statistics via Google Analytics 4 and Vercel Analytics (page views, session duration, device type)

We do not collect your name, phone number, or payment details. You do not need to create an account to use TradiePricer.

Why we collect this information

Your information is collected for the following purposes:

• To generate an AI-powered cost estimate based on your job description and location
• To send you a notification when verified local tradies become available in your area (email signups only)
• To improve the accuracy and relevance of future estimates
• To understand how the site is used and identify areas for improvement
• To prevent abuse of the free estimation service

How we store your information

Estimate data and email signups are stored securely in Supabase, a cloud database provider with servers located in the United States. By using TradiePricer you consent to your information being stored overseas. Supabase complies with industry-standard security practices including encryption at rest and in transit.

We retain estimate data indefinitely for service improvement purposes. Email addresses are retained until you request removal.

Disclosure to third parties

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only with the following third-party service providers who help us operate TradiePricer:

• Supabase (USA) — secure database storage for estimates and email signups
• Anthropic (USA) — processes your job description to generate an AI estimate. Job descriptions are sent to Anthropic's API and are subject to Anthropic's privacy policy
• Vercel (USA) — website hosting and serverless functions
• Google Analytics 4 (USA) — anonymised usage analytics. You can opt out via Google's opt-out tools

We may disclose your information if required to do so by Australian law or a court order.

We do not sell your data

We will never sell, rent, or share your personal information with advertisers or third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Cookies and tracking

TradiePricer uses Google Analytics cookies to collect anonymised usage data. These cookies do not identify you personally. You can disable cookies in your browser settings or use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Your rights under the Australian Privacy Principles

Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
• Correction — request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information
• Deletion — request that we delete your personal information
• Complaints — lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au if you believe we have mishandled your information

Data breach notification

In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the OAIC as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Limitation of liability

TradiePricer is a connection platform only. We connect homeowners with local tradies but are not a party to any agreement, contract, or dispute between a homeowner and a tradie.

TradiePricer does not employ, endorse, or take responsibility for any tradie listed on the platform. We do not verify the qualifications, licences, insurance, or workmanship of any tradie. Homeowners are solely responsible for independently verifying a tradie's credentials before engaging them for any work.

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, TradiePricer accepts no liability for any loss, damage, injury, or dispute arising from the use of our platform or from any work carried out by a tradie found through TradiePricer.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page with the date it was last updated.
